Fender MIJ Trad Series Thinline Tele, surf green, 2018. Whoa, this is nice! When this arrived it still had the plastic on the pickguard, as well as the original warranty docs and a not a scratch on it. It really could pass for brand new; it's in incredible shape. It's beautifully made; everything is precisely done and it feels very tight and together in the hands. The combo of a maple board and semi-hollow ash body is a classic for a reason; this cranks out a spicy, articulate tone with a brilliant balance between sparkle and warmth. It's an absolutely perfect rhythm guitar; clean or dirty, it absolutely sings out big open chords with exceptional clarity and smoothness. Natural gloss is by far the most common finish on all versions and eras of this model;the gaudy coastal cool of the limited run surf green finish gives this an offbeat charm. Save yourself a few hundred off a technically 'new' example and ride the wave while it's in front of you.
